There are quite a few places on Earth where you can find good dubstep and good beers at the same time. Czech Republic is one of those places. Not only from this reason the Havirov based WZ is among our favourite producers. His music has very unique characteristic which clearly comes from the matured state of the early ‘00s dubstep sound but upgraded and shaped to 2020’s demands. He is one of the guests of the next Frozen Plates party in Budapest at 17^th March (see more info here). From this occasion we had a little chat with WZ about his production methods and musical adventures.

A kelet-oroszországi Kurgán városából indult útjára a Dutt Dutt kiadó, ami kezdetben kizárólag egy rádióműsor volt a Sublte Radio-n. Számos keleti vendég DJ beatjei felcsendültek itt pl. Oddkut, Moscow Legend, OH91, Toton, Kercha vagy Ninety akik az oroszországi dubstep szcéna vezető alakjai. Egészen szürreális látni, hogy a 2000-es évek elején a ganja füstös brit kulturális olvasztótégelyben formálódott underground zenei stílus 21 évvel később felbukkan Oroszország közép ázsiai régiójában, a kazak határtól pár kilométerre, majd egy olyan lemezt raknak össze, amit a legmenőbb nyugati rádióműsorokban játszanak. Ez nem más, mint a DD001!!!

Az elmúlt 1-2 év talán legsikeresebb és legfelkapottabb kiadója a Juan Forté. Bár eddig mindössze három lemezt jelentettek meg, de mindegyik szinte pillanatok alatt elfogyott úgy, hogy a rajtuk lévő háromból kettő digitálisan is megvásárolható. A JUAN001-003 értéke a használt lemezes oldalakon az egekbe és egyesek arcpirítóan magas összeget képesek elkérni értük, mások pedig kifizetni. A kiadó a napokban jelentette be a 04-es lemezt, amelyen három Leftlow zenét hallhatunk. A promót meghallgatva a 04-es sem lesz kevésbe népszerű, mint az elődei, sőt!

Az Essex/Brighton illetőségű Low End Music kollektíva már maga mögött tudhat két sikeres 12”-es lemez kiadást és nem régen jelent meg a harmadik lemezük, melyen nem más szolgáltatja a talp alá valót, mint az egyik legizgalmasabb brit producer Teffa!

Without a doubt, Ninety is one of the most interesting dubstep producers to emerge of late. The 23-year-old Russian has turned the world of dubstep on its head with a fresh, dark sound identifiable as his, and his alone. After his first-ever vinyl outing on the most recent Frozen Plates release, we had a chance to pose a few questions.
